If you are a Snapchat user, you might want to make your profile dark. The company rolled out dark mode for iOS devices, but it has not yet come to Android. However, if you are lucky enough to own an iPhone, it is easy to set up a dark mode.

To set up a dark profile on your Android device, you may need to do a little digging. For starters, you can go to your Settings and check the App Appearance section. There, you will find a dark mode toggle, as well as a “smart invert” feature. You can also try a third-party app, such as Blue Light Filter, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. In addition, there are some other useful ways to get a darker Snapchat experience, from changing your app theme to installing a filter app.

As for the most important part of this task, you are going to have to take a peek at the Snapchat app’s settings page. Scroll down the page and you will see a gear icon. Tap on this to bring up the settings page. Now, you will want to look at the right hand corner of the screen. That’s where you will see the “Dark Mode” toggle, which you will need to turn on.

Aside from that, you will need to follow some instructions. To do the above steps, you will need to enable Developer Options in your Android settings. Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to open the Snappy app. Make sure you have the most current version of the app installed on your device.

While you’re at it, you’ll need to make some changes in your account. One of the more obvious options is to disable auto updates. Go to your profile and tap on the small icon in the top left corner. Next, clear the “Enable auto update” box. Do the same thing with the Bitmoji icon. This will prevent automatic updates from launching without your permission.

Besides the usual suspects, you will also need to know how to get the most out of your app. By using a dark theme, you can reduce battery usage and save on wear and tear. Furthermore, you can choose a light layout during the daytime. Likewise, you can switch to a dark theme at night.

Before you go off and try to play with your mobile phone while you’re in the dark, you might want to give it a break. In some cases, using your phone after dark can lead to headaches and sleep deprivation. Thankfully, there are a number of apps that can help you get a better nights rest. Just be careful not to overdo it, as that may only result in a crappy night’s sleep.

On a more technical note, you may be able to use a third-party app to turn your phone into a smartphone that works in the dark. These include applications like iAnyGo and Tenorshare iAnyGo, which can change your location to accommodate for the dark mode.
